Buffalo Mountain Wind Farm – Oliver Springs, TN
TVIG was BOP general contractor Invenergy’s first wind project, which was completed in 2004. The project was located on a mountain top overlooking Oak Ridge, Tennessee and included 15 Vestas V-80 turbines. TVIG was responsible for building the roads, foundations, and performing the turbine erection. Buffalo Mountain was a ridgeline project with steep grades, sub-surface coal-mine spoils. The site characteristics dictated single-blade turbine erection.
