Tennessee Valley Infrastructure Group, Inc. (TVIG) completed construction of the 163 MW Astra Wind Farm in Happy, Texas in June 2017. TVIG did the work through its wholly owned subsidiary Astra Construction, LLC.
The Astra project is located about thirty miles southwest of Amarillo, Texas on approximately 8,320 acres of land previously used for agricultural and ranching activities. The wind farm is owned by a subsidiary of Falvez Energy, LLC and was financed by GE. TVIG’s scope included the design of the entire project including sixty-eight GE 2.4-107 turbines with 107 meter rotors with a total nameplate capacity of 163.2 MW, as well as the civil and foundation construction and construction of the operations and maintenance facility.
